First question, there any way to top up without a credit card as I don't have one. Is there any way to top up with a top up card or PayPal or anything besides a credit card??
My second question, I would like to try it out first before completely switching from my previous carrier (Chatr)
Also, does anyone know if Fizz is any better than Chatr mobile?

No, you need a credit card, some users have Koho
Fizz has a 15-day trial you cannot use more than 50% of your data, and you need to buy the SIM card this cannot be refunded.

First time trying to use Fizz, and I failed. I tried to pay with a Prepaid Vanilla card, and the software wouldn't accept it, even though the site says it will accept that payment method. Vanilla said 'recurring' payments are not allowed. Another major problem is that Fizz wants a 'name' on the card, but Vanilla Prepaid has no name and Vanilla says just to use your Postal Code, but Fizz will not accept numbers and wants two names (first and last), whereas they shorten the Canadian postal code to one name without the space, so Vanilla and Fizz contradict each other. Even if I were to use another brand of Prepaid CC, the Fizz software makes a crazy mess of the address, yet for it to work, the name and address has to be exactly the same. In order to get it to work, I'd have to go to my financial institution and get them to change the format of the address, and I don't think they would do that because every institution has a different address format standard. So, in summary the Fizz software makes is almost impossible to make a payment. So, I'll have to go to another carrier.

Most online place refuse prepaid card, probably because of 3D secure.

And why would we refuse to help just because a new question is being asked in an old thread?! I don't get it...

@neubby Try to just put your actual name as the card holder, regardless of whether it is printed on the vanilla card or not. Also use your actual address as the billing address. That should get you past the "syntax check" on the Fizz web site. If the card gets declined, login on the vanilla website with your card number and see if it gives you an option of registering your name and/or billing address.

Well, because the information contained in the previous posts can be irrelevant these days. IMHO, it's always better to create a new discussion than to revive a 5 years old one.

Seem up to date, if you search online about visa vanilla you can find a lot of place it does not work, the situation is with the payment provider (not Fizz itself)

Well, but Fizz is singling out the Vanilla prepaid card explicitly on https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-payment-methods-can-i-use as an example of prepaid payment cards that work with Fizz. So, one would assume that it does then, otherwise Fizz ought to change their FAQ on acceptable payment methods.

Good point, no idea why it say supported. If you can’t get a normal credit card I recommend you to get a permanent card that act as a prepaid, like the Wealthsimple chequing account (just an example), the card act as a prepaid mastercard, no credit check
