Why is "Android System" using up so much mobile data?

Since the last 2 days, Android System has been using up as much as 350mb. This did not happen until now. Can someone give me a reason for this? I am using a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) phone.

I already disabled app updates in the Play Store.

Android system must be an update of the OS, therefore is not the play store

Disabled auto-sync a long time ago, and the last update I got was before I got a Fizz card.

I have the same phone and didn't experience this issue.
I got an update yesterday but was 30 mb only...

In your phone settings, you can turn on Data Saver.

So the majority of the phone updates will be done via wifi and won't use up your data.

Re-Start your phone see if it still does the same thing!
