Is there a risk of being charged roaming fees in Laval or Montreal?
If you leave the option of "allow data use while roaming", Are we at risk of incurring roaming charges while the mobile is used on the islands of Laval and Montreal?
The reason I ask, is that our previous provider, did not charge any roaming, anywhere in Canada, and by allowing that option in the settings, it allowed the phone to pick whichever network was available in rough signal places.

No for two reasons
You have at least a Quebec coverage, the re before montreal and laval are covered
If you do not have money in your wallet they cannot charge you, since fizz is prepaid service5 -
If you have Quebec coverage then you're good for Laval/Montreal as they're part of Quebec.5

The smallest plan is Quebec only, so you can roam in all of Quebec no problem. I live on South Shore of Montreal and have never incurred fees on North Shore and Quebec city!
Plus, Fizz is prepaid so no bad suprises!3 -
No, rest assured since it is still in Quebec and the basic plan is for Quebec you will not be charged for roaming.4

Fizz does not charge for roaming. Firstly Fizz is prepaid and secondly you're within your subscription service area.
Keep in mind you cannot use FIZZ EXT roaming on a long-term basis because Fizz can terminate or suspend your plan if do so for 3 months or longer.

Il n'aura pas de problème, Fizz a leur propre réseau à Montréal et à Laval, donc t'inquiète pas.0
