The concept of roaming does not exist with Fizz, in the meantime check if the network is set in automatic.6

Does this mobile wifi device have the necessary bands to make use of Fizz data? If it's connecting on 2G, that may be because it does not have the needed bands for data on 3G or 4G.6

Probably because your wifi device is not compatible with Fizz.
You should share a connection from your iphone for your other device that are not compatible.5 -
Could be that the device is locked to rogers and need to be unlocked5

Check the specs of your mobile wifi device. Most probably does not support the frequencies for LTE on Fizz and that is why you are connecting to a roaming partner.6

What is the make and model of this mobile wifi device?
By the looks of it, it is incompatible with Fizz network. It sounds to be an older device or one not originally for North American use.
Rogers is a roaming partner of Fizz and they are the only provider still offering 2G service in Canada.
