I'd like to know how to increase my apprentice rank. Like from 2/5 to 3/5.

It's a mystery. Some people thing it has to do with how long you've been with Fizz, but my level hasn't changed since last May, when I went up multiple levels all on the same day. It doesn't seem to be connected to points or questions or answers of the forum either.8

As far as I can determine, it seems to be a function of time combined with participation in the Fizz community, and possibly by sharing data. I haven't been able to determine a specific algorithm, but I'm working with a very small sample size.9

From my experience I can say that it is not linked with the points7

It is a combination of factors. I have seen someone's rank increase right after a person gets 5 points. So points are one of the factors as well.

I think it is mainly based on time that passes since your first forum activity. Secondly it is somehow impacted by the points due to forum activity. However, the rank may not change for an undetermined period, and one day it will go up a few levels.
Anyways your forum level doesn't really matter. Your Fizz account level does - on higher levels you have three slots unlocked and data upgrades.6 -
