Can I split my account into two numbers/sims, one for calls and SMS and the other for mobile data?

See, I have a Nokia N95 that I use for my calls with fizz and that's still a pretty great phone and I love it dearly but it's just not up to snuff anymore for internet things, plus its options for wireless tethering are just inadequate. I also have a few android phones lying around that I could use but I'd still like to be able to use my N95 for my calls and texting and one of my android phones for the data, but I'd also like to be able to split my current plan into two distinct sims hopefully without losing the promotional beta pricing (since I'd signed up last year). Can anything be done about that?

Anyway you slice it, it will always cost more for 2 plans compared to a single combined plan.

If you want to use a second SIM, you will need a second plan.

If you sign up now, you will have to pay the regular price at the end of the stabilization period.

I'm just surprised the N95 is compatible with fizz network bands...

@Dominic it's not really surprising at all, the N95 supported 3G along with UMTS (3.5G). What IS surprising though is, since Rogers hasn't yet shut down their 2G network (They're doing that at the end of the year), you can have the Fizz sim work on some hillariously outdated phones that originally ran on Rogers' network (Fizz EXT connects to canada's network of extended networks which is run mainly by Rogers, which is a bit like roaming, but inside canada and you don't get charged for it), for exemple the 19 year old Nokia 3390b, which was the north american version of the famous Nokia 3310, the indestructible phone.

 

I actually used it for a week and it worked wonderfully but it's still a 19yo phone, and I like being able to actually do something with my phone. That thing didn't even have a web browser (but it DID have Aol Instant Messenger pre-installed, haha)

 

@Leifuer why wouldn't it be a good idea? I can't use wireless tethering on the n95, and it can't even connect to most modern websites because of missing support for modern encryption schemes like SHA-3, but it's still a great phone for calls and texting, and I prefer a numpad to a touch screen so I'd rather be able to keep using my n95 for the calling and texting and another android phone for mobile data stuff. For me that's a win-win.

My first reaction would be like Fizzy. One good plan is probably the cheapest solution.
