I have an obvious question.
I just got Fizz SIM, before starting with the activation process, things I want to be cleared. Since I am currently Fido customer and want to transfer to Fizz with the same number.
Once I transfer to Fizz successfully, do I have to close/deactivate fido by myself? Or will it be deactivated automatically?

It should be deactivated automatically if you're transferring your number. Once it's fully activated and working properly with Fizz, you can call Fido and double check if you want.9

It will be automatic, after a day you will see on your fido portal too9

Do not cancel your old line or you might hinder the porting. It will automatically cancel and you will get a final bill from your old provider.6

I transfer my number from Fido to Fizz, it was closed automatically. After a month a got the refund for the unused days6

Once your Fido number has been successfully transferred out to Fizz, the Fido account will automatically close. Fido will bill you whatever is owing to them or refund what's owing to you as per your contract. DO NOT cancel your Fido account, you may lose your number if it has not been successfully transferred to Fizz.7
