Why can't I choose between the 2.4 and the 5 GHz bandwidth of my modem on my phone?

So in the instructions, it is stated that there will be two wifi ports to choose from, one that will have the name I gave it and an other one with the same name, with a _5GHz after it. Instead, the only wifi port I see on my phone is the regular one.
Even when I go in the app and I click on my phone, it says that it has access to both bandwidth but that it is connected only to the 2.4, and I can't change it.
Why can't I change which bandwidth I want my phone on?

Usually the steering function is enable, which let the client to chose the right band4
