I received my modem today and tried inputting manual DNS server (OpenDNS). My internet immediately went down. Even when I set the DNS back to automatic, it wouldn't connect to website until I reset the modem.
Is is possible to change DNS in the modem without issues?

I believe that there are a couple of users who had configured their DNS without trouble.6

Changing the DNS server should not disable the internet. Make sure you are entering the correct IP.7

Used 8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 google DNS to see if it's the problem of opendns.5

I changed my DNS to Google's without any issues. Same for all my friends. It does sound like you have other configurations preventing you from using a manual DNS server.9

Must have been a temporary hiccup. It worked when I tried again.4

To use residential services, you usually need to obtain IP address and DNS automatically.2
