Ported number, but I get no texts and can't gift data?
I ported my number from Rogers to Fizz about 2 weeks ago, but I can't do many things:
- I don't receive any SMS from any carrier other than from numbers associated to other Fizz customers (I can however send SMS and they'll receive it.)
- I can't gift/receive data, it gives me an error message saying: "This member cannot receive gifts because they do not have a mobile data plan."
- I don't have any option in the section "manage my plan", other than "Wallet" and "Add User"... which means that can't buy add-on, change my address, add travel plans, change SIM card, change the payment method, change the phone number, etc...
I've contacted Fizz customer support via FB Messenger and have been following up with them for the past two weeks. But I still have no resolution and no response other than "we'll contact you via email when we have updates".

Facebook messenger is not the best way to followup on issues.
Use chat customer services on Fizz web site or fill in a contact form with your problem.
If you don't have the "manage my plan", is probably only because your are on a pay-as-you and did not activate a plan.
If you did activate a monthly plan, than I suggest you contact Fizz through their chat here https://fizz.ca/en/contact-us
Also, giving data is only possible between members that have a valid data plan. That's the rule.5 -

How can someone be on a pay-as-you-go anyways? I was charged the whole monthly fee.
Also for the gifting of data, I do have data (16gb), but people get an error message when they try to send me data "This member cannot receive gifts because they do not have a mobile data plan." Something isn't right.4 -
It’s possible to have a Fizz pay as you go plan by using only the wallet money and no monthly plan.
But it’s obviously not your case.
I suggest you contact Fizz to fix your account settings.

The best solution is to contact Fizz by the chat , probably a problem with your activation as René sais.5

It doesn't sound like your number port was successful. Did you receive the message saying it was completed? Have you tried popping your old Rogers sim back in to verify your old account was cancelled? I didn't port in a number myself, but I recall other customers reporting seeing a similar lack of options on the website and service issues when their number port wasn't completed yet. Either way I would suggest you do need to contact Fizz and see if they can identify a problem with the porting.5
