Internet installation?

Hi fizz i live in an apartment. i have a cable port on my wall. i was wondering if technician need access to anything to activate my service so i can get cable internet working

In apartment building there always a room reserved for cable, telephone. So yes Fizz would need to have access to that room beside your apartment.

I had the same situation, and thats what happened to me, the technician, came, he checked the cable port, used his device to activate something and the service started to work
Usually the cable connections are never disconnected, is only the service, so unless your apartment is brand new and you never had a service they will need to check your building installation.
