Why I can't get 438 or 514 number as a Fizz customer?

I want a 438 number because the card is for someone who's going to study in Montreal. Fizz won't give me the 438 number and here is the reply?
Why? It's a cell plan , not land line.

Because your service address is not in Montreal, you cannot have a 438 or 514 number and that's why you've been assigned a 343 number.
Unfortunately, we are unable to give you a Montreal number, because your service address is not in Montreal.

Use an address in Montreal if you want to get a Montreal number. It's not like they send bills to your house, so any real address should work.

That's how it works. They give you the area code where your address is.
The alternative is wait until the person arrive in Montreal and then open a different account with the Montreal address.

Thanks. They assign me hard to remember 343 number now. I'll worry about it after the person move to Montreal .
