I have a Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro (2017) and the SIM is not working on it! Can anyone help me with that?

check with another phone

2 possible reasons: Either your firmware needs to be updated, or you need to reset and reinstall the operating system (backup to cloud and restore in the case of an iPhone).39

Do other SIM cards work in the phone? Try with a SIM card from another cell company to see if it works in your phone. It is possible you have a bad SIM card.38

It's because your phone is locked. I saw this message before. Your phone is pretty new and you can unlock it for free, just call where this phone was locked to. You DO NOT need to be its customer to unlock it. At least Rogers unlock my iphone 5S for free this year (vs $50 in 2015 when I unlocked my iphone 4s out of contract).

ModemOutlet is correct. Phone your previous provider where you bought your phone and provide your IMEI number.
I was able to do this remotely with an iPhone and the SIM was accepted and the phone Activated.
iMessage and FaceTime are activating fine now also.35 -
yes, by CRTC regulation the previous provider should unlock your phone for free if you contact them32
