calling and texting add-on

Adding unlimited texts to your plan is only $2 at this point, so the text add on doesn't make much sense unless it lasts multiple months.16

Agreed. The calling add-on may make sense. $0.05 a minute. Good for those who don't call a lot.16

It is frustrating how difficult it is to find this information. Other pay as you go providers are much more upfront about the cost of plans, adds on, per text, per minute, etc.18

I know right. I had my plan all picked out in the beta period, then they go and jack up the data add-ons. It would have been nice if they mentioned those were beta prices. Now I had my plan picked out with calling add-ons, and I find out it's not unlimited.16

Also the call add-on last up to 60 days, while sms add-on only last 30 days.18

Interesting...thanks for the info14

Judy, you're a treasure trove of information. I thought all add-ons had the same expiry date. But you're right, the calling add-on is longer. How does it work? looks like SMS is until the end of the billing cycle plus one month. Is calling plus two months?16
-
Wait a minute. I am confuse. Looks like they are both valid until the end of the billing cycle plus one month. Judy, correct me if I am wrong.14

End of billing cycle + 1 month offers decent savings on phone calls vs unlimited, but not texts. I don't spend an hour talking on my cell even in 2 months. Hmm. Something to think about when my beta 3 months finishes up next month.14

Yeah, totally worth it if you don't talk a lot. Just make sure you remember to re-buy the add-on when it expires. Or make sure you have no money in your wallet. Otherwise it will be $0.25 a call. With data, it's easy enough to log on and buy the add-on whenever.15

Yah you right11

@Pat D.
My cousin activated his sim card on December 1st (billing date), as well as the add-ons calls and texts.
As of December 12th, he's left with 20 days for texts and 51 days for calls. So only calls are until the end of the month + 1 month.
For the add-on calls, it's more advantageous to always activated the add-ons on the 1st day of your cycle to get the most of the 60 days.
"In other words, if there are 10 days left on your current payment cycle, your Add-On will be valid for approximately 40 days."

As for the add-on texts, it's unclear to me whether you are only left with 10 days if you activate the add-on on the 20th day of your cycle (which would be totally offensive and barbaric) OR you actually get 30 days from the day you activate it (the most logical option).
To play it safe, always activate on the 1st day of cycle.

Judy, I wonder if there's a bug there. All add-ons are supposed to last until the end of the billing cycle plus one month. When I click on them, that's the expiration they give. Maybe it's not the expiration they give for sms once you pay?9
-
Exactly the info I'm looking for, THANKS!!
I look forward to more details on expiry of SMS.9 -
Something tells me the prices won’t be as competitive as we all hoped they would be in the end.8
-
@Pat D. If that's the case, if could very well be a bug.
From this page (https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-is-an-add-on-and-how-do-i-buy-one), we understand that ALL add-ons are on the same terms. There shouldn't be an exception whatsoever. Otherwise it's false advertisement.
Let's try to get support to confirm.
