Does anyone else feel like this is completely backwards?

It's like being in the twilight zone.
Fizz keeps telling me they can't port my number.
My number is ported, I can make, and take calls on my Fizz SIM card.
I cannot receive any texts.
And when I bring that up, they tell me my old account is closed, and I'll need to contact Fido to have them activate the account so I can port the number.
I tell them, my number is 100% working on my Fizz SIM card, my old SIM card is dead, the number has ported to Fizz, my old account is closed.
Then they tell me they can't port my number. . . .
It's like, crazy land.
Can someone help me explain it better?
What am I not saying right.
When I say, "My number is 100% ported to Fizz, my old account automatically closed (because of the port). I can make + take calls, + send texts using my number on Fizz - I just can't get texts", is that clear?

Most probably a porting routine went wrong along the way, seems obvious to me.
Come on Fizz Team you must read complaints properly in order give the right answer! Better, the right solution!!!19 -

8 and 9 are good. SMSC is configured correctly. Plus tried it on 3 different phones. Mate 10 pro, XZ2, and Passport.17

This is EXACTLY my situation right now. Fizz is telling me my Virgin account is closed so they can't transfer the number… My number is transferred...that's what closed my account. Everything works except I can't receive texts. Not sure if Fizz knows how to fix this.14

My father is having a similar issue , he can make calls with the fizz SIM card but can’t receive calls because fizz is havin* problem porting the number12

Fizz sent wrong porting info all the time. My Freedom (wind) porting went through just fine , but I still got the "porting failed" info as well. Old number works fine with Fizz . I wait 2 days and contact Freedom (wind). Make sure everything in freedom side is closed. If your number works fine with Fizz (in/out, call and sms). So just ignore the "porting failed" e-mail from Fizz.9
