There are people on the Fizz subreddit reporting today (July 1) that both calls and SMS work fine in the US over LTE on both AT&T and T-Mobile. I guess Fizz sent that email because not everyone has the new SIM card yet, but they could have worded their email to be more clear if that's the case.

Yeah, looks like they added the $2 upgrade to my account. Too little too late and missing 3 other upgrades still. I cancelled my service today.

Don't bother, I'm cancelling my Fizz internet. My recent experiences with support and my emails being ignored have made it obvious that Fizz is not interested in my money.

Well as I expected I got an absolutely moronic answer from Fizz support. They closed my ticket today and said that the specialized team has determined that I do in fact have the level 5 300 MB upgrade, which is not at all what my ticket was about.

@Eric, exactly. It's been over 5 months now and they still haven't made use of the standard voicemail notification. I'd love to hear Fizz's reasoning for this.

That's a strange issue. Make sure your APN settings are correct and that you don't have anything running in the background that might interfere with your connection, like a VPN or a sketchy app.

That's strange. Did your friend try to activate it on his account? I've ordered SIM cards for other people and they were able to activate them without issues.

Fizz is prepaid so I doubt that will be happening, at least not any time soon.

Could they expand west of Ottawa? Probably. Videotron has the spectrum licenses for it. Will they? Probably not. It's likely too small of a customer pool for the investment required. There might also be some contractual obstacles with their agreement with Rogers that prevents them from expanding any further into Ontario.…

If the goal is to be competitive with TPIAs, then obviously you should offer 120 Mbps and every other speed tier right up to gigabit. 60 Mbps is okay for single-person homes or light users, but I would never consider subscribing to such a slow speed. Not even 120 Mbps. 300 or higher and you have my interest.

Fizz has said from the beginning in the FAQs that calling will be available in other countries some time in 2019

I find the TextNow app works better than Fongo (both are free). You can even send/receive MMS, which Fongo can't do.

Just press 1 while it's going through the date/time/number and it will skip to the message.

I have the same problem. I can send texts and MMS just fine, but can't receive them. APN settings have absolutely nothing to do with SMS by the way, only data and MMS.

@M.H. you also can only gift in increments of 500 MB, even though the fine print says 250 MB.

@Jonathan, you can't pay your bill with money in the wallet. The wallet is only for pay-as-you-go charges.
