Regarding the issue of changing my data plan

There is currently a half-month promotional offer for mobile plans. As existing customers, can we switch our current plan to this discounted one?

My second question is that the monthly data in my current plan is too much, and I can’t use it all. I want to switch to a plan with less data, but I noticed that switching to a 1-GB-per-month plan doesn’t change the price compared to my previous plan. Right now my plan includes 6GB of data per month, but I don’t even use 1GB. However, the 1GB plan costs the same as my previous 6GB plan, which feels very unfair for loyal long-term customers. I plan to keep using this SIM card for 20 or even 30 years, so is there any better option for adjusting my plan? I am looking forward to hearing your massage, thank you so much!

You can't switch any existing plans onto the discovery discount, however, you can open a new plan on a new sim card that would get the discount. And scrap your old plan.

However, the 1GB plan costs the same as my previous 6GB plan, which feels very unfair for loyal long-term customers.

Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. Fizz raised prices considerably after in March this year, specifically for data-only plans outside of Québec. If your plan is from back then, chances are there aren't any better options right now.
Fizz keeps changing prices frequently, so you may find something better suited to your needs at some point. If you do, you can change your plan then.

I plan to keep using this SIM card for 20 or even 30 years,

Well, if we are talking decades of service, just stick with the 6 GB as long as you can't find any cheaper options. Your need for data may increase over time.

    Hi,
I don't know which specific promotion you're referring but as far as I know you can always change your plan (outside of the 4.5 days monthly freeze period) to take advantage of new pricing.
Prices vary and might go up or down so take that into consideration as you might not be able to get a lower price plan when you want to switch back.
