    If in the Christian Church, November is the month to pray for souls, in Vietnamese culture (and possibly Chinese as well), the seventh lunar month is dedicated to praying for the departed and honoring ancestors

Families return to their hometowns, visit ancestral graves to pay respects, and share traditional foods such as songpyeon (rice cakes filled with sweet ingredients). It’s also a joyful time for family reunions, games, and expressing gratitude for the year’s harvest
