I understand what you and others have answered but I'm puzzled because for longer than one month , I have a deactivated account that is sitting in my account page with a button "Reactivate".(I had setup my first account to try out not realizing that an active Fizz account may not be ported into. Because of this I had to setup a new account that I could port my number into.)
Now your situation is more clear. So for a suspended phone number you have 60 days to reactivate it in order to not lose that phone number. After 60 days you can't use that phone number.

Your plan will be suspended and if you are not paying it will be cancelled.
When your plan is suspended, you have one payment cycle (so one month) to make your payment. The deadline will be indicated in your account, as well as in the communications that will be sent to you to this effect.

How long until the plan gets suspended? Or is there an option to pause your plan for a period of time?

Only Internet plan can be paused.

I have read the help line and it does state that if one misses payment for more than 72 hr then the plan is suspended until it's re-activated by making a payment --- My question again is --- how long will a plan be suspended until it is cancelled.

If you don't make the payment, you have one month to do so.
Depending on the date you previously made the payment and the date you make it before your plan is canceled, the new billing date may change if those dates are not the same.
