VoLTE connectivity and " non exhaustive list " of certified phones
Hello hello, i'am just wondering something, from the end of 3G network we are now connected to 4G LTE on our phones, i had a personal samsung galaxy A20E (compatible 4G LTE+ all around the world) which was only in 3G before the withdrawal and now it is only in 4G, no LTE connectivity possible, then i have to buy another phone if i wanna make and receive calls, anyway ! So if we read the " non exhaustive list " of certified phones (supposed to be) compatible with fizz network on the fizz website, i can see an example of samsungs " compatible " listed with these specs :
Technology : GSM / HSPA / LTE / 5G
2G bands : GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G bands : HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
4G bands :
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66 - International
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 14, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 39, 40, 41, 48, 66, 71 - USA unlocked
5G bands :
1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 77, 78 SA/NSA/Sub6 - International
2, 5, 25, 41, 66, 71, 77, 78 SA/NSA/Sub6/mmWave - USA unlocked
Speed : HSPA, LTE, 5G
Then they are supposed to works with the VoLTE Fizz sim, yes yes i know the better way is to dial #TEST on the phone to be sure. So now technically, any phones with same specs should be connectable with the VoLTE fizz right ? Here 2 others example of phones with these specs :
The first one, bands :
2G GSM (bands 2/3/5/8)
3G WCDMA (bands 1/2/4/5/6/8/19)
3G CDMA2000 (bands BC0/BC1)
4G FDD-LTE (bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66)
4G TDD-LTE (bands 34/38/39/40/41)
The second, bands :
2G GSM (Bands GSM850/GSM900/DCS1800/PCS1900)
3G WCDMA (Bands 1/2/4/5/6/8/19)
3G CDMA2000 (Bands BC0/BC1)
4G FDD-LTE (Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66)
4G TDD-LTE (Bands 34/38/39/40/41/42)
5G NR (Bands N1/2/3/5/7/8/20/25/28/38/40/41/66/77/78)
Well, i have been told Fizz using the band 4 from videotron is that right ? So i am wondering if buying any phone able to connect to 5G network and/or able to connect to band 4 will automatically give me access to the VoLTE fizz network or it is 2 things totally differents ?
Thanks for any answer, i have 45 simcard and phones to renew for my company drivers and i must to be sure they will be compatible with fizz simcard (i'am switching from another carrier to Fizz) :-D

What is the exact phone?
I don't think specs matter because carriers "certify" certain phones.
There is no technical reason, it is all about control.1

Hi, it's not a matter of frequency but of firmware that accepts Fizz's VoLTE settings. The phone must also be from North America to support the 4 bands used.
Unihertz phones are not listed so you'll have to try it. You can subscribe and you have 15 days to cancel.
No 5G here.

Please note that Fizz is for personal use, not for the corporate one.
