I am not clear if I can use the sim card in my present phone. I want to keep my phone number. I want the same for my wife.

    Hi
You need to have a Fizz’s SIM card (which you need to buy online or in certain participating stores), or if your phone has eSIM you can have with this that is free. https://fizz.ca/en/participating-stores/sim-card
Remember to use a referral code at the subscription to get 25$ credit a your second payment
Here you will find a full explanation https://fizz.ca/en/faq/activation-how-do-i-transfer-my-current-phone-number-to-fizz

You have to ask your current phone company so they can transfer your number to fizz. It is their obligation and your right to keep your number, just let them do it for you

Actually, that is not quite correct. You have to get Fizz to ask your current carrier for the number transfer. Otherwise the current carrier wouldn't know where the number is supposed to go.
So, bottom line, you need a sim card from Fizz and during activation you ask Fizz to grab your existing number. Keep your original sim in your phone until it goes offline. Then switch to the Fizz sim. At some point during the transfer, you'll receive a text message on the original sim where you will have to confirm the number transfer.

Also, you can check whether your existing phone is compatible with Fizz under Chapter 3 here: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices

If your phone(s) are not on list, check back with us here and let us know what phone model(s) you guys have.
