LTE sets my location/localization in Quebec

I'm in Ontario. When I use my LTE, I get French ads targeting those living in Quebec. Occasionally, if I'm browsing a website or using an app that is looking for stores near me, it'll put in a location in Quebec or I'll need to change the language of the site. It's not a big deal but a bit annoying if I'm in a rush. I also discovered Fizz through Spotify ads so I kinda wonder what I'm missing in terms of localised ads. Is there anything I can do about it?

    At the moment you obtain an IP which is geolocalized in Quebec, this is the reason

    Therefore, at the moment the only possible option is to use a VPN, sorry

    I'm not sure that will solve your issue completely, but you can change your location on google (usually the bottom of google search page) to at least change your locale on google.

    Your LTE data is always tunnelled to Montréal first before going out on the Internet. That's what location services are seeing, that you are accessing the Internet from Montréal, QC.

    Check the location permission options on your device.

    Thanks. Mine is already set to my local area but I don't actually use Google as my main browser on my phone.

    Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone, I'm on Android.

    The majority of websites don't use GPS localization (except when they need to pinpoint your exact location, like in map applications). GPS requires specific authorization. Most sites use a GeoIP database instead, which isn’t very precise but gives a general idea of your location.

    At the moment, your connection is routed through Montreal. This isn’t ideal for GeoIP accuracy or for ping times. Unfortunately, we have to wait until Fizz activates some gateways closer to users.
