VoLTE compatibility

We have 2 cells(Samsung Note SM-N960V and S8 SM-G950W) and we have the message that they are not VoLTE compatible. What are our options? Can we change the sim card to make them compatible, or is it the phone (don't think so as I have a S8 for work with another provider and it is compatible), or is it the provider, Fizz?
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Thank you

    Hi @Amros62
at this point in time the 2 phones are not in the list of certified phone you can check here https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices, The best way to confirm whether your phone is VoLTE-compatible at Fizz is, once your Fizz mobile plan is activated, to make a call by dialling #TEST (#8378) on your mobile phone while at home.

I really find difficult that this two phones will be certified since are out of updates and difficult to support.

Did you try to check on your account, sometime Fizz users a perks with a discount to buy a news or used phone from their shop.

Regarding the SIM, if your SIM has a red thunder on it the SIM is VoLTE.

Finally the certified phone it is give from the provider

You have to check that the sim has a red bolt on it and that the phone is compatible by doing a test call to #8378

You can use either for now as both are not compatible with VoLTE calls will be on 3G. No problem for now till 3G is stopped, we still have some time left. I would say s9 is better as it is latest and have better processor.

@G225 code IRSGE : Are you sure for Fizz/Freedom. I don’t think so. I didn’t see any news from Fizz/ Freedom. The network still needs to be expanded in many places, I receive only 3G in quite some places near Halton hills, ON.

@G225 code IRSGE , Okay thank you, I know there is no 3G in the USA and big three may turnoff 3G. I am expecting Fizz to continue for quite some more time.

This is independent of Fizz, since Fizz is using other infrastructures therefore it cannot decide when the 3G will be turn off
