I have a Motorola One 5G Ace. The phone Is supposedly LTE and 5G certified. My SIM card is LTE. Yet, when I dial #8378, it says that the call has failed and that I will be affected by the 3G removal in July. What's going on?

Your phone supports LTE but it's not VoLTE certified by Fizz ( VoLTE means : Voice over LTE ) : that means when 3G network will be shutdown in Jul 2025, you won't be able to make phone call however you can continue to use it for data.

    Hi @Sebastian C. #8231
If I look on the list I don't see your phone https://fizz.ca/en/faq/compatible-devices
And yes if you fail the test you will be affected for the voice call when the 3G will be shutted of

Your phone is not on the list of phones certified by Fizz for VoLTE operation. More on the topic here:

We'll, they do say that the list is "non-exhaustive". I find it frustrating since I bought this phone from Fizz.

Yes you are right, but the test should give you the right information
You can also try to disable the wifi
    Makes a call
If the signal will switch in 3G this means that at the moment is nit a VoLTE call

Make sure all updates have been done on your phone and redo #8378

    • All the updates are done.
    • I removed the WiFi and "LTE" appeared. But when I call #8378, it goes to 3G. As soon as I hang up, it becomes "LTE" again.

    This is really weird.

No this really question of compatibility of network of Fizz.

It has nothing to do with LTE bands. It is missing the configuration needed to access Fizz' VoLTE service. For some reason, the industry decided not to allow consumers to configure this manually on their phones.

Ask support to check if Fizz plan to add this phone or not.

It seems that this phone it doesn't have any support for Motorola any more, therefore I will find very difficult that this will be compatible, since it seems that some configuration must be pushed using an update from the provider

Well, this is quite dumb from Motorola/Fizz. Plus, with the exception of the camera, the phone is great. It's even snappier than a Pixel that we have.

I am really disappointed in Fizz who sold me a phone that will simply not work anymore as a mobile.

I'll try to search online if there's absolutely no way to change the LTE configuration.

Thank you guys for your input.
