Is your plan not for Ontario residents?

I live in Ontario. Based on agreement 8.3 - "We may interrupt or block your access to the network of these providers when you use your mobile service mostly on their network for three consecutive payment cycles", does that mean I had better find other providers that offer coverage in my area?

    Hi @Hero_On

If you live in Ontario, Alberta, or any other province, it doesn’t make a difference whether you’re using your phone within your province (if you have provincial coverage) or anywhere in Canada (if you have Canada-wide coverage). The only exception is Manitoba, where — even within the subscription area — you’ll be on the Fizz EXT network. In all other provinces, the most important thing is that your signal must be labeled as Fizz. Otherwise, you’ll need to follow the applicable rules.

In short you have Fizz signal, you are ok, you have Fizz Ext (at the exception of Manitoba) you need to follow the rule of no more of 50% use in 3 consecutive months. More information here https://fizz.ca/en/faq/partner-networks

Yes, if you are not in the area covered. You need to check.

Fizz features what they call subscription areas. Your place of residence must be within a subscription area in order to activate a plan. 8.3 in the service agreement is there for a few reasons.

    • You should not register your plan in one area and then use it primarily in another where Fizz has no coverage of their own.
    • You should not primarily use partner networks in areas where Fizz has its own coverage.
    • You should not get a Fizz plan to use primarily in the US.

As long as you can activate a plan at your place of residence and you adhere to the rules above, you should be fine.
