5G Seems to be a very important deciding factor for people.

So when I recommend friends and family fizz, one of the first things they ask is "is it 5G?"…
I know I know… people will be like well do you really need 5G? LTE Speeds are good for 99% of what we do everyday but it seems like having 5G is a very important deciding factor when switching networks.
It would be smart for Fizz to launch 5G in the near future as the competition is heating up and 5G seems to be a big deciding factor for people considering a switch from their current company. It seems to give people a sense of trust.
Cheers,

Hi @Nexzen
You might want to explain to them that 5G is generally unnecessary except in rare situations. It can be useful in very crowded areas or if you use your phone as a hotspot for your computer. LTE+ can reach speeds of up to 300 Mbps, which should be more than enough for most of us.

True, as basically every modern device and provider is now 5g compatible it is really expected of a mobile service. I hope Fizz will catch up. I know some providers offer both 5g and 4g plans for different prices, that could definitely work here too.

Speed of 4G LTE is correct for small Career with small price.
Here, on my house, no 5G. Only 4G LTE the same with $$$ career.
5G for more speed if need is very good. But for normal user 4G LTE speed is correct.

For some users LTE is not working but 5G might work.

if 4g not working it not likely that 5g will as it doesn't travel near the distance 4g does. You would have better luck getting 3g while it lasts

What do people need 5G for? 🤷🏻♂️

I don't have 5G and never had an issue 🤷♀️
Did your friends and family actually have issues by not using 5G?

Freedom Mobile has 5G and Fizz runs on the Freedom network in Toronto. I got around 220mbs speed on Freedom, currently getting around 100mbs on Fizz. Do I need 5G? maybe not but it's good to have. When you are in a congested area like Downtown Toronto or a concert or a sporting event, 5G is more reliable due to the larger capacity available during peak times. I think as customers we should always want the best and ask for the best instead of settling for what's available. Fizz getting 5G benefits everyone, the customers and the company as well. It will give Fizz the ability to better deal with traffic during peak times and congested areas. It will also help them attract more customers who want 5G as I stated, one of the more common questions nowadays, especially from the younger crowd is does Fizz have 5G. Being an online only self use company, its target market is the millennial and gen z and to attract their attention, they would need to offer 5G at sometime in the future. Public Mobile currently is doing a good job at that.

4G with Fizz works only on certain frequencies.

Nobody needed light until the light bulb was invented.

I like your point, but they had candles, torches, lanterns…

:) You are right.
Almost nobody wasn't going on vacation in the South before the flight was invented.

Good points. I'm guessing that Fizz will eventually have 5G available, but as to how soon we don't know...

4G is ok, 5G is better. All depends on prices
0 -
It also depends by what you've got to do with your phone… the advantage is minimal

Yes, in general, 4G LTE consumes less battery than 5G, but it depends on several factors.
0 -
It depends
But i agree that for general usage, 4G LTE is enough0 -
I mean, they used fire to get light before the light bulb 😅 but i get your point… Seriously though, 5G has been around for a while now and I don't see any specific application for standard users that requires it

I understand that, but if you want the best of the best you should go with a top tier mobile provider, not with a 2nd or 3rd tier one. Obviously, it would be nice to have but there are so many things Fizz should give priority developing/introducing and in my opinion, 5G is not one of them yet. Fizz still doesn't provide VoWiFi for example, and that is a higher-priority feature, again in my opinion.

I really hope that Fizz rolls out 5G when 3G networks start shutting down in summer 2025.

So do I, but 5G is already out there, it's not dependent on 3G removal.

We are all hoping...

Yes, you are right.

Totally agree that VoWiFi would be more important IMO

That would be a nice addition
