Feeling limited by VoLTE compatible "dumb phone" options - help?

Basically, the only "dumb phones" currently VoLTE certified with Fizz are the TCL flip phones. I was resigned to having to give up my old phone and I purchased one, but I've had all sorts of issues with it, on top of generally disliking the design of the phone.

Are there any plans to certify any Nokia phones? Is there any other options? Are we really just limited to what Fizz puts on a list now?

Unfortunatly we are only limited to the phones on fizz list. They might add more in the future but no one knows.

It’s frustrating when options are so limited! Unfortunately, it seems Fizz's VoLTE certification process does restrict choices to their approved list. Nokia phones are often solid alternatives, but unless Fizz certifies them, they might not work properly. You could reach out to Fizz support to suggest certifying more models or check if unlocking a compatible phone might help. Hopefully, they expand their list soon!

By narrowing down choices, vendors can better manage technical support and software updates. They can focus on a small number of models, making it easier to troubleshoot and optimize performance.

There are also commercial considerations.Agreements with some phone manufacturers may include exclusive terms, which limits the options available to customers
