If I buy a phone, it's asking me to put it on a plan, I just want to buy a phone, can I just buy a phone?

If you purchase a phone but without an active mobile subscription, the system will require you to create an account. It is not possible to bypass this step. However, you can buy the phone through an account with a mobile plan and then transfer it to someone else.
That said, if the phone is discounted through Fizz, you will need to follow the instructions outlined in the guide below.

If you have a discount from Fizz you need to have a plan associated since if you close the plan before you need to refund prorata the Fizz discount.

You can buy a phone for another person but you are the one who will have the points or the discount per month if applicable.

It's best to just buy a phone that usually has plan discounts to take full advantage of the perks.
