VoLTE Certified: No on Account Page
I talked with a Fizz agent on this, and they said that it said "VoLTE Certified: No" in the settings because I didn't purchase the phone with Fizz, and that it shouldn't affect my services. However, I'm skeptical because I see my phone go to "3G" rather than "LTE" constantly when going through more rural areas; not sure if this is normal, I thought that VoLTE certified phones only operate on the 4G/LTE network, not 3G. Furthermore, I've had issues with people trying to call me (ie. it doesn't ring or show any missed calls).
I want to know for sure if my phone is VoLTE certified before the 3G network phases out in 2025. What will happen to my phone when the 3G network is gone in those rural areas? Will there simply be just no service? Or does the 4G/LTE network cover it? (I've looked on the coverage map and it seems that it does cover it, but then why is it giving me 3G and not LTE? I'm very confused.)

Hi, your Iphone 12 is certified. (7 to 16) Many have the display of non-certified but it works fine.
I also had 3G on my device once. Normally it is always in LTE.
In the countryside, you mean which place?

when the signal is weak like in rural areas or underground parking lots, lte often drops to 3G. to check you have volte, make a phone call with wifi off. if the status shows lte then you are volte. if it drops to 3g then it's not using volte. as for what happens to rural areas when 3G gets dropped? no idea. all carriers will have the same issue

I travel to rural areas all the time and my iPhone 12 mini switches to 3G and back - this is normal.
When 3G is discontinued, unless the carrier replaces the service with something better, there will be no service in those areas

This will probably move to 5G or 4 LTE
