IMessage and Facetime with expiring transferring number

I transferred my number from my previous provider to Fizz and everything seems to be working fine. However, my iMessage and Facetime says that my number will expire in a month. It says that it can still be used until it expires since it is registered with my Apple ID but it is not associated with the phone ( I assume because I took my original SIM card out). I just want to ask if anyone has had this issue and if your transferred number can still be used for iMessage and Facetime. How can I ensure that it can still be used?

My phone number is not written in cellular settings but the "Personal" SIM does have Fizz as the network. I am scared if I click on the "Personal" SIM as the address I receive and send IMessages from, that my "expiring" number will deactivate immediately with iMessage. Would clicking on the "personal" SIM that fizz is associated with, do this? Or would it ensure that I can receive and send iMessages from the transferred number?

    Good morning,

    I recently switched to Fizz. I had no trouble with FaceTime or Messages on my iPhone. All worked fine.

    There are several discussions in the Apple Support Community (unrelated to Fizz) on this topic.

    Lots of “ try this” without follow up as to whether or not the proposed solution worked.

    Here is a copy/paste of one confirmed solution.

    ”Go to Settings --> Messages --> Send & Receive

    You should see the same notification about the phone number expiring in the "Send & Receive" tab again, but this time with a red "Remove From iMessage and Facetime" button underneath. Press this button.

    Now under Send & Receive you should see your phone number still there, but without the checkmark next to it that indicated that it is active.

    Simply press on your phone number and it will activate it again with both iMessage and Facetime again. You should see that small checkmark next to it again.”

    Can you receive calls on that number? If yes it seems that the transfer was done correctly

    Give it a week to be provisioned, try to turn of f or put the phone in airplane mode to see if you register to Fizz and not Fizz Ext

    iMessage association to a phone number is done via Apple, and should be done based on the phone number. You can see the association even on a Mac, outside of the phone/SIM. Perhaps you will need to reconfigure iMessage on your phone, but it will be unrelated to Fizz.

    Ca you receive regular SMS on the phone? I think that in order for Apple to register your number for iMessage your number has to receive a regular SMS. When I activated my Fizz sim I could not receive SMS for a few days and as it happened to you the number was not displayed under Cellular Settings.
