Followup on compatible devices to port landline to Fizz
This is a followup for those interested to port a landline phone number to Fizz as posted initially here:
The following device is compatible to transfer a landline to Fizz:
While it is possible that a landline is not compatible for direct transfer to Fizz as specified by Fizz technical support, once a number is transferred to one of the above cellular networks as specified in the previous thread, the number will be compatible to transfer to Fizz using the device above.

Interesting, I didn't know this could be an issue. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the follow up, however, this probably will stop work when the 3G will be dropped in Canada. If Fizz will not certified it

The device is compatible with UMTS Bands (3G) / LTE Bands / VoLTE.
Full specifications here:1 -
Yes but to use the VoLTE with Fizz it should be certified by Fizz :(

That is irrelevant to your point that 3G will be dropped. Even if it is, the device has the capability to be compatible with other frequency bands that Fizz will obviously support. And since it is intended as a home phone, roaming and switching networks and bands is not essential as long as one of them works and is compatible.

Totally agree with you this time.

Probably you should read this one

Sorry but I think this is wrong… Please read the link @elena code xzi4t provided and be aware that in the US, where the 3G network has been already shut down, you've got to have volte to make calls or either you have to rely on 2G networks which are not everywhere, are slow and unreliable nowadays…

You can think what you want and you too are missing the point of the thread. Why would people care what goes on outside this country when this thread is about helping those who have antequated expensive landlines switch to a cheaper cellular network in Quebec? I even specified the instructions for specific carriers in this province. Extrapolating the procedure that would work in another country is impossible.
If people want a real cell phone with the most recent network compatibilities, they will put a SIM card in a real cell phone, not a home phone device. Pointing out the exceptions and the "yeah, but" is irrelevant.0
