Fizz internet for gaming / streaming

Good afternoon, I just subscribed to Fizz 400/50 internet, getting my modem Wednesday. I was wondering if any gamers / streamers had any issues with ping spikes, packet loss and / or jittering. I'm curious mainly because I found out that the Fizz modem is using a Puma 7 chipset.. I will be using the modem in bridge mode with a Netgear XR500 so I'm curious to know if anyone with similar setups is having any issues. Wishing y'all a great Sunday!

    Hi @Orbxtal

Using the modem in bridge mode will help you, at the moment I never had any problem.

Please let us know you consideration after you tested

I never had any problem with Fizz Wi-Fi connection.

I use Bridge Mode to connect my Google WiFi and everything works great.

Fizz Modem is ok but the technology is really old. It is almost 10 years old. So Bridge Mode is perfect to fix that :)

I'm in the same situation as yourself. I'm gonna receive Fizz modem next Friday but I'm not a gamer... However I'd like to have feedback on the stability too

It’s great for gaming but could not say for streaming as i don’t stream.

I wish they would update their modems but ehh, as long as it works well in bridge mode it's whatever. They could also simply let people use their own modems

Well, the fact that you can enable Bridge Mode... you can use your own modem :)

Is the only issue the coverage provided by Fizz's modem or are there any other issues ?

I think if your good with gaming, you are definitely good with streaming.

I think he meant live streaming something like uploading a live video or something like that... to watch something in streaming you don't really need that much bandwidth as you mentioned

That’s also what i’m thinking but i don’t want to make any false statement just in case.

If you do live stream at high resolution you probably need a lot of bandwidth for uploads
