Moderators or users choose for the best answer. The platform is based on Khoros + Lithium.
So the best answer is selected manually.

Yep, it's the question owner but only if he/she started a question and not a discussion. Moderator, if they close the question or of the owner doesn't do that

Especially for people looking for an answer to the same questions, it's gonna be easier to consult old threads that have a lot of answers. This way they don't need to go through several pages of answers to find the best ones!
