No LTE in USA

I can't get LTE signal when I am in USA. I only get 2G connection. I keep putting on airplane mode to reset connection. I get LTE for a couple of minutes but then connection reverts back to E signal. I tried somebody else sim card and I get proper LTE signal, so nothing to do with my phone.

Try to set your phone LTE only.

There's a simple way to do it. Just send me a private message, and I will show you

I've been through the same thing last June.

Since you have an Android phone,

    Try typing code *#*#4636#*#.

    on your phone calling keypad.

You will have access to the Phone Information menu. Tap on this menu

    Lower down you will see:

    Set preferred network type:

Choose LTE or NR/LTE (NR is for 5G)

    Exit the Phone Information menu

This will make sure you don't switch to 2G or 3G.

If ever you want to make calls, go to your mobile Settings under Network mode and choose GSM or GSM/WCDMA or GSM/WCDMA/LTE whichever works best for calls.

Same situation here. I went on vacation in USA for five days and I haven't been able to use my data even though I have a Canada/USA plan. I would get 4G/LTE for a few minutes then it would fallback to 2G/E. I was able to send sms even though it's not suppose to work anymore when roaming from USA. I've been chatting with Fizz the whole time but they couldn't figure out what the problem was. I end up thinking it was my phone but couldn't try another device during my stay to confirm it. I have a OnePlus 8 running Android 11 (Oxygen OS).

T-Mobile still uses 2G GSM for calls ( and EDGE 2G data network: VERY VERY SLOW!), at least until the end of the year. Their competitor AT&T no longer supports neither 2G nor 3G so my no way to make calls with AT&T. For data, try choosing AT&T. if available. If only T-Mobile is available, you should be OK for calls and text messages, but data will be very slow. Toggling airplane mode on and off will normally kick out 2G, but it may come back after a short time. The only way out I know is choose LTE networks ONLY. However this last option is not available in Fizz Network mode rollout, but it can be accessed through a simple code on Android phones.

When I tried with AT&T it would refuse to connect. The only operator I could successfully connect to was T-Mobile 2G, even T-Mobile 4G was failing to connect, then I would restart my phone and surprisingly get 4G for a few minutes then it would fallback to EDGE. I haven't tried toggling airplane mode though. I've tried setting the LTE option in the APN settings without success...actually it wouldn't keep the setting after reboot.

I finally installed the "Forced LTE" apps and problem solved. I am able to force LTE only.
