Add-Ons are active immediately. They’re valid until the end of your next payment cycle.
In other words, if there are 10 days left on your current payment cycle, your Add-On will be valid for approximately 40 days.

in my case was cheaper to change the plan to Canada+US plan

=Hello @J1_, purchased add-ons come in to effect immediately and expire at the end of the next 30-day billing period. As someone else pointed out, another option is to choose to change your plan to the Canada + USA option, which would come in to effect the start of the next 30-day billing cycle. Note, if you change your plan and then want to change again after returning from your trip, you must choose from the plans available at that time, which may or may not be the same as your current plan and pricing. Another option is to install a calling add-on to your phone, which would be usable over WIFI or purchase a pre-paid SIM in the USA. Hopefully this helps you decide the best option for you.
