What does "Error 0" mean as a reason for being unable to send a text?

I'm trying to continue an ongoing text discussion, but now I can't send a text to the other party, but get a message saying "Can't send message with Fizz - error 0". My wife can send messages and I can receive them. She is on Fizz and sitting beside me.

    Hi Swansong,

    Reboot your phone

Try all the solution in this link before reaching the support

    To Chat with Fizz support:

    ·        Connect to your Fizz account by clicking « Login » in the top right corner

    ·        Follow the link on this page: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/status-services

    ·        Wait 3 seconds for the green bubble with a '?' appears at the bottom right of the browser, if you use a phone you must use it in desktop or horizontal mode

    ·        Choose the option 💬 chat

If the green bubble does not appear make sure your ad blocker is disabled, otherwise try with another browser like Firefox edge or a private one.

Fizz show you how to reach them in this link

    https://fizz.ca/en/contact-us

    Other means of contact

    ·        Whatsapp: (438) 393-5814

    ·        By private message on Twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/fizz_ca

    ·        By private message on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fizzca/

CHAT however is the only effective and quickest method

    Hi,

first remove your SIM card with caution, then reinsert it and to finish, reboot (power cycle) your device by holding down the device’s start button for 10 seconds.

After you reboot, your applications will reload. Your phone will then re-authenticate to the Fizz mobile network. This will allow your device to recover its authorization to access the network.

You can also test the troubleshooting mentioned in the following FAQ: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/i-cant-send-or-receive-text-messages & https://fizz.ca/en/faq/what-are-fizz-network-settings-apn

And if the problem still persists, I strongly suggest you to contact Fizz team customer service byopening the following link: https://fizz.ca/en/faq/status-services and simply scroll down until you see the green bubble, than click on it to start your chat session with the customer service.

If the chat bubble still does not appear at the bottom of the page, on the right, after a few seconds, the number of pending sessions is higher than the service’s processing capacity. At that time, you can leave a message on the other proposed communication channels:

-By private message on Facebook/Messenger: https://facebook.com/fizzca.

-By private message on Twitter : https://mobile.twitter.com/fizz_ca

    -Whatsapp : (438) 393-5814

What does "Error 0" mean and why would any competent technical implementation deliver this to a user interface.

I've already rebooted my phone, switched airplane mode off and on, manually selected all possible available networks.

The last ticket I opened a couple of months ago is still open so I don't see this as an option for resolving this issue in a reasonable amount of time.

You have the last update on your phone ?

I understand your way of thinking about the support, I had some problem whit them but not all the time. If you don't have another option maybe this they will help you.

My phone is up to date and messaging worked earlier today. My wife's phone on Fizz can send messages with no problem. Obviously, the issue is "error- 0", whatever that might mean. (Sorry but in a previous life I was responsible for defining user interfaces, so I have little patience for this crap).

I now think the problem is a misconfigured smsc number.

I've asked a separate question on how this can be edited on Samsung A52.
