Port existing number after initial activation

I am interested in "testing" fizz service before porting my existing number over from Rogers. Would it be possible to sign up for Fizz, get a new number, use the service for 1 month, then port my existing number over\cancel the new number and stay on the same plan ?

I don't see why that wouldn't work, you can create a new account with a new number and then close that account at the end. If you are satisfied you create a new account again, but this time by transferring your number.
