Switched to higher tier home internet, but speedtest still shows old bandwidth for upload

Hi all,

I used the new offer and switched to a higher tier home internet. The switch was supposed to happen on the first day of my next billing cycle, which was two days ago. I made a speedtest today and the download bandwidth is good (it's the supposed value for the new plan), but the upload bandwidth is still what I had before (so half of what the new plan should be). I'm confused as to what's going on. I tried rebooting the modem and router, but it didn't make any difference. Is anybody else having the same problem? Do I need to activate something somewhere?

Thank you!

Dave

If Speedtest is showing 120/10, then you've got a technical problem.

Typically Videotron Speedtest will show ~10% over, give or take.

Start by restarting your router and retesting with the client directly attached to the modem.

    And try with dslreports speedtest.

You should see higher numbers than the link below, but worse bufferbloat.

Are you testing directly from Fizz Modem or connected to your router?

Did you try to boot your computer also? Change your browser, are you using a firewall?

    Latest router firmware?

How is your network card? driver update?
