What happens when you run out of data?

Sorry if this is in a FAQ, but I didn’t see it: if you run out of data, does your mobile internet just stop until you add a perk or add-on, or does your card get auto-charged for extra data? Asking more for my son who’s also on Fizz and more likely to go over.
