My girlfriend has videotron internet but the wifi doesnt reach everywhere in the house and they cant move the router because of placement issues. Is it possible to move my fizz internet from my home to hers, run it on videotron cables while she still has videotron service?

Technically speaking it uses the same outlet. However, the service needs to be activated. Moving your modem to your girlfriend‘s place will not work. It might connect but won‘t give you service12

Danny, you can try it if needed. It should work.
However, I suppose Fizz would not recommend that this be done on a regular basis. Your service agreement is for your specific address.
Also it is not recommended to move the Fizz modem as it can be damaged and replacing it will cost at least $150.12 -
My other suggestion would be for your girlfriend to use another router or a wifi extender so that she can get better wifi reception.
I would also believe that the Videotron router provides stronger signal compared to the Fizz device. So using your Fizz modem would not necessarily help.11 -
This works? Since when? Support told me it wouldn‘t11

It's not supposed to work this way. However people who are moving to a new place that was previously occupied by cable internet subscribers have been able to use their service (on a temporary basis).
If you check your service agreement, your address is clearly written in this agreement. So Fizz will tell you that the service is supposed to work only at the intended address. And yes if you violate the terms of the service agreement, Fizz can terminate your service.11 -
Btw, i do plan on changing my service address and doing things how they should, i wont be uprooting from one place to the next. I was just wondering if both services can run at the same time?11

Danny, yes both services can work at the same time.
However if there is only coaxial cable, you will need to split the cable.
If you schedule a change of address, the technician will come on the day of the appointment to ensure that there is sufficient signal for both services and will split the coaxial cable or install a new coaxial cable as needed.13 -
I would suggest to give a try with a wifi extender first. You can find it on Amazon for few bucks and may solve your problem. Hope this helps!10

Fizz is owned entirely by Vidéotron, but operates as a unique company. The same as Koodo to Telus, virgin to Bell, etc5
