I have my modem in bridge mode, and as long as I keep my MAC address same on my own router Public IP address will remain the same and if you want to get new public ip, just change the mac address in WAN or Internet Setting depending on make of router. It's been also almost a year I have the same IP.

I believe that we can call it a dynamic IP with a very long lease.
There is not a guarantee that it will stay like that

If you do not turn off the modem for hours, you will get the same IP for months

I confirmed with Videotron, they said It will remain like that. Only downside is that you every have disconnect that mac address for more than 24 hours, Public IP will get disassociate from that mac address.

It's praticaly static! Except is you close your modem during like 2-3 days!
  • I confirm... Have the same IP for over 2 years now. Even better: I was with Videotron (Fizz is Videotron so no surprise there) and I just switched to Fizz. New modem but put it in bridge mode and used same MAC on router. I still have my good old Videotron "static" IP. :)
