You don't have to waste your money. I suggest to try the Fizz modem as is out of box first.

Luis, like Fizzy says I suggest you try the modem as is first since what certain customers claim to be faulty wi-fi may only be isolated cases. You may need one if you live in a very large home, your modem is placed at one end of it, and you want to have a signal at the other end. In this case you may need a signal extender or want to place your modem elsewhere more strategically.3
