Why are there so many questions about failures with modem? Was there a batch of modems with problems or is there a bigger issue?

I think part of the problem is the coaxial cable network, depending on the type of building you are in many of the junction boxes are outside and exposed this can lead to degradation of the connection and signal. As for the modem, I don't know how quickly Fizz would replace modems that are not functioning properly? It seems that the issue is not the modem according to Fizz based on the questions I have seen on this community hub, but people still have problems.7

Juan I think that’s a problem with settings or adjustments with the modem. I had some issues first with the wifi. But with the disabled 2.4 and 5 GHZ bands and with my own router everything is perfect. It can take a little more help to have a good connection with the fizz modem. (I had a personal router with my last internet company).5

Hello Juan,
I don't think there's much of a difference between fizz and other carriers as far as modem / router goes. I have Helix-FI (Videotron) and it's the same thing. You may have some problem with the automatic 2.4Ghz/5Ghz band switch. Worse case scenario, you may use different SSIDs for the 2 bands and you will have full control over your network. The automatic change of SSID will not occur this way.6 -
It’s probably a problem with the cable5

Hi Juan
The more Fizz expands their customer base, the more activity and issues there will be in the community forums.
Fizz recently conducted a survey of their home internet customers. 94% reported being satisfied with their service. https://fizz.ca/en/wi-fi-technologies5 -
I'm wondering why myself actually... I asked a couple of people here who want to abandon their internet subscriptions. But without response so far!8
