Connect to Blu-ray?

Anyone know how to connect your modem to a samsung blu-ray player? I've connected the ethernet cable to the modem and blu-ray and I have entered everything manually. When i do the internet test it tells me that my 'gateway ping' is not connecting.
When i try it the auto connect everything connects but then I get a message that my HTTP port isn't connected....
Please help! I'm not very tech savvy...

    Did you try to update the blu-ray firmware?

    normally it's suppose to connect automaticaly.
    Contact the manufacturer or read the manual to have more informations.
