Got 500 MB perk and this email earlier today.

Michael, the slots you refer to are for you available Upgrades.
You do not need any slot to use Perks.
The Perk can be applied to your mobile plan or gifted to others within 90 days of receiving it. Otherwise after 90 days, the Perk will expire.8 -
