How can you block your number for outgoing calls on Android? I am now needing to use my phone for work.

Hello Andrew,
First of all, it will all depend on what Android phone you have.
I personally am with the Apple ecosystem.
Nonetheless, in your phone settings, if you look into your SIM card info/phone line info.
You should be able to see an option where you can have an unknown number.
Of course, with that said, when you will be calling people, they won’t know/see your number.
Although, they will be able to reach you if you provide them with your number afterwards.
(Note that customers will be able to see your number if you send them a text message only)
Sincerely Damek!9 -
Hi again,
I forgot to mention that if you are having difficulty finding the show my caller ID option. I believe you can search it up in your phone settings by using the search bar.
Have a great day!8 -
I have a Samsung S9+ with updated Samsung One UI 28
-
On my Android phone, I open the dialer app. Then click on the 3 dots at top right corner to access "Call settings". Go to advanced, more options, or additional options. There is a setting named "Caller ID" with the following:
- "Network default: Use default operator settings to display your number in outgoing calls"
- "Hide number: Number hidden in outgoing calls"
- "Show number: Number displayed in outgoing calls"
You can also google search "how to block your number for outgoing calls" for your specific phone model.10 -
Well Andrew, Fizzy has beaten me to answer your question.
That is indeed the way to do it!
Take care!
On your phone;
•Open the phone app.
•On the top right, CLICK on the option/ 3 dots .
•With the option menu opened, tap on settings.
•Once the full menu is open, scroll down to More Settings.
•After that, tap on show my caller ID.
From there you will be able to select Hide or Show as well as other phone options if you so desire.9 -
Sadly, I have tried that and when I go to Call Settings, I only get the option of Other Call Settings and in there, there is nothing about caller ID and such8

For Samsung phones, go to dialer app. Click on 3 dots at middle right of your screen. Click on "settings" to open call settings.
Go to supplementary services, there you can change your outgoing call settings.
Btw, these settings are based on an actual Samsung phone from Canada.7 -
You should only see supplementary services if you have an Australian phone. Or else, it should be marked as “More Settings”.
Once again, here’s what you have to do;
•Swipe up or Down to view your apps.
•Touch the phone app.
•Touch the Menu Icon. ( 3dots-top left corner)
•Touch Settings .
•Scroll to and touch “More Settings”.
(Or for whatever case “supplementary services)
•Touch Show my Caller ID.
•Select “Hide My Number”.
Your caller ID settings should have been changed.
That should work for many Samsung Phone including your S9+
Hopefully it works for you!7 -
Andrew, you may also try this.
Open the phone app, dial in *67, and then dial the number as you normally would.
Using the *67 prefix makes your number private to the person you're calling.6 -
Fizzy & Andrew,
Dialling *67 before composing your number is only for landline numbers.
So it won’t work for a mobile device.
At least it’s the case for BELL & FIZZ6 -
On your phone, try dialing
#31# followed by the number you want to call.4 -
Indeed, that should work.
Therefore, that’s a temporary option.
In other words, you will need to dial #31# every time you make a call. If you intend to use this everyday for business, it will most likely become annoying.
So, try, like I’ve described before, to hide your number from the phone/dialler app on your S9+4 -
Did It finally work?3

Hi Andrew,
Was your problem fixed?
I invite you to choose a best answer If you issue was resolved.1 -
#31# was the best solution. Although it's disappointing that Fizz doesn't offer this feature. My coworkers with other providers are able to restrict their numbers quickly online through their account. Fizz said this is not an option at this time.1

Andrew,
I don’t understand how this didn’t work for you.
I’ve managed to easily block my number permanently( until I turn it off).
It is very strange that it doesn’t work.
It should. It worked for me.
I recommend you give it another truly by going in the dialler app on your Samsung then following my instructions above.
I’m sorry that your having some issues0 -
