Do I need to pay fee if I would like to receive texts while abroad?
Here is my issue, I gonna return to Japan. And I need to receive international text since this fizz number has linked to my Google services. And I would like to know whether there is a fee if I only need to receive international texts.Do I need to roam if I only want to receive international messages?

Receiving text is free any where in the world.
you need to make sure the roaming option it on you will not be charged since you do not have an international plan11 -
Hi, a quick search revealed this :
2. Make sure to activate the roaming option of your phone, or else it'll block your usage.
Important : You will not be able to make calls while roaming outside your Canada or the United States.
Roaming calls (incoming or outgoing) will be available at a later time. We will update this FAQ when we have a firm date.
In the meantime, you will be able to use data, and send/receive texts when you travel outside your coverage zone. To make and receive calls, you can use messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger.

You do not need roaming to be turned on for text messaging to work. The roaming option is only for data. But Fizz is prepaid so even if you had roaming on, you will not be charged anything more.
Receiving texts anywhere in the world will remain free and does work. I have received text messages in US, Peru, and Belize over the past year without any costs.7 -
