Caller ID spoofing?

Apparently a stranger received 1 missed call from my phone number thursday ( the person sended me a screenshot, so I know they weren't mistaken). They texted me back thinking they missed a call, but I don't have any outgoing calls on my phone's history. Is there a way to find out who is using my number? Is there a protection in place insuring that my number can't be transfer to someonelse. What should i do?

Not too much you can do. Many spamming calls every week. Just hangup .

Did you try looking up your number to see if it showed up anywhere not recommendable? If it keeps going, as much as it's a pain, I'd look into changing it. Can never be too careful.

Caller ID spoofing is very common these days. Maybe should you read this page on the CRTC's website for more information about that: https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/phone/telemarketing/identit.htm

Nothing that you can do. They can pick any number they want.
