How do I get a refund since I will not be starting the cycle?10

When is the payment for my next payment cycle taken?
Your plan is renewed at noon the day before the anniversary date of your payment cycle. If your next cycle starts May 5, payment for that cycle will be taken on May 4 at noon.

You can aks for a refund but a think it's to late. Wait until next month to transfert your number and save the money. Do it 48 h before your next billing cycle to avoid another situation like this.

Communicate with them by messenger, that’s what works best for me.10

Unfortunately you might not be able to get refunded for the monthly plan fees. The amounts in the Wallet can be refunded. Chat with support just in case.
See Section 15.2.1 of your Service Agreement:
If you cancel your Mobile Services Agreement, any amounts prepaid for your services by a medium of exchange (e.g., a prepaid card) are not refundable. Nevertheless, any amount in your Wallet will be reimbursed to the credit card linked to your account.11 -
That is unfortunate since all other telephone companies will reimburse you the pro rata of what's unused.
When I left Telus, they sent me a refund the next month.14 -
Oh no! You leave ,. You need to pay,. Forget about getting a refund.n10

@Gualberto Yes, I would have expected a pro-rated refund too, even for prepaid services.
Note that for Fizz internet subscription cancellation, you do get a pro-rated refund. That is described in Section 15.2.2.12 -
Wow, that is very weird. It is the opposite of normally.
Other companies : Internet, no pro-rata refund but telephone pro-rata refund.
Anyways, that's how it is I guess11 -
My previous ISP had no contract and pro-rated refund, just like with Fizz. I'm surprised about Fizz's mobile cancellation refund policy.
The only thing I can suggest is to contact support in case they can make an exception, considering the payment for a month that won't be used at all. Definitely unlucky timing.11 -
You'll have to wait till next month9
