Static Public IP?

At the moment Fizz does not offer this option.
Probably you already know, but you can use dynamic dns16 -
Unfortunately, not for the moment, maybe in the future.15

Usually you have to pay extra to have an static IP address.
For now, Fizz gives customers dynamic IP address only.
The only difference between dynamic and static is the lifetime of the address.
The lifetime of a dynamic IP varies by ISP. I have been using the same IP for more than 3 months now.15 -
Sometime static Ip are used to prefilter the connections14

If you want static just dont put a Bounty. Youre welcome. Bon dimanche matin! Im in fire!14

@VincentMG: sorry, I don't get what you are saying...13

It probably got autocorrected. He said don't put static on a battery because it can cause a fire.
Then something about a Good Sunday bonfire. I hope he is okay.

Static IP comes automatically with DSL but not with cable.12

I was with videotron, and they would assign ip by Mac address, so as long as you have that same Mac address on router, the ip would stay the same.13

I believe your IP address gets changed regularly with cable Internet.
If you provide services via the Internet and you want your IP address to stay the same, you need to subscribe to a (dynamic) domain name so that your clients can find you on the Internet even if your IP address gets changed.
This is what I have been doing with Rogers. I always have cable internet.
It's not fake news unless my ISP gave me wrong information.
Vedeotron might have a different policy about IP addresses for its customers.
The same way Fizz mobile does not offer all of Videotron features, we need to check if Fizz internet will be the same as Videotron's.13
